Ryan Boyd and I disagreed on Patrick Kane’s shootout goal from Wednesday night. I was at the game, and as a Wild fan, I thought it was gut wrenching.  It made me almost ill, especially after watching Dany Heatley fail to skate with the puck on his stick for more than 5 feet. Kane looked like the only skater who knew what he was doing out there. Ryan B thought the move was awesome. I find it hard to respect awesome after my heart has been ripped out.

If there was any solace for me, it’s that Kane may have learned his patience from earlier in the game, when Kyle Brodziak waited out Ray Emery. Of course, Brodziak had to contend with opponents other than the goalie, since it was in regulation….

I have to give it to Brodziak. Clearly the better goal. I may be biased. Extraordinarily biased.
