But The Games Is On

Now the Flyers Are Mocking Us

I lamented the fact that the Flyers seemed to be mocking the labor negotiation process when they re-signed Wayne Simmonds to a lengthy, pricey extension. I have to believe that the Flyers not only read this site but secretly hold me as an object of scorn.

Monday, the Flyers signed Scott Hartnell to a 6 year deal, once again running counter to what the Owners are fighting for in their increasingly distressing labor negotiations. Between Simmonds and now Hartnell, the Flyers seem to be smirking at the rest of the league. It would almost be understandable if they were firing these bullets at big time superstars. Scott Hartnell is good, but not exactly labor-negotiation-ruining-hypocrisy good.

Of course, the real joke will be on the Flyers when there aren’t any games to play this season anyway.
