It’s no secret that the Vancouver Canucks are looking to move Roberto Luongo. It’s equally unsurprising that the Chicago Blackhawks are interested, given their need for a top goalie and penchant for aging netminders. What is surprising is the name involved in the rumors.
According to the Sporting News, Dave Bolland is one of the names being mentioned in the discussion. Bolland being sent to Vancouver would certainly be an interesting outcome. Surely you remember this interview from Bolland in which he called the Sedins “sisters”. Seems an odd fit for Vancouver, doesn’t it?
Many Hawks fans I have talked to have been underwhelmed by the prospect of Luongo coming to Chicago. Despite Luongo losing his starting spot to Cory Schneider, and having some issues in the postseason, he would still be significantly better than any option Chicago has. We will have to see how it works for Luongo, Bolland and the two teams involved.
