We have chronicled the sad tale of Jack Jablonski, the Benilde St. Margaret’s JV hockey player who was paralyzed after a check from behind sent him into the end boards. It was presumed that Jablonski would never walk again, let alone skate. The thought was that he would be permanently paralyzed below the tricep.
Last week, however, there was a great bit of news. Jablonski tweeted that on Tuesday, he was able to move one of his legs, as well as a finger. This is great news for a young man that has maintained a positive attitude through his entire ordeal. Let’s hope he continues to show improvement, just as hockey organizations try to improve player safety.
