Nicklas Lidstrom to Retire
One of the greatest defensemen to ever play the game, Nicklas Lidstrom has announced that he will retire. For anyone who has followed hockey for the last 15 to 20 years, this changes the Red Wings as we know them.
The familiar face of the Red Wings has seen this potential coming for some time, and I discussed it back in April. He was a prolific, stable, constant pillar of the NHL and the Red Wings for so long, next season won’t quite feel right, especially in Detroit.
