But The Games Is On

Who Are These Guys?

Let’s recap the Western Conference so far. Nashville and St. Louis are through to the Western Conference semifinals. As of this moment, Phoenix and Los Angeles are ahead in their series, needing one more win to put them into the the next round. If we are to make that leap, we end up with a Western Conference semifinal of Phoenix versus Nashville and St. Louis versus Los Angeles.

What’s so strange about that? Well, a lot of things, actually. Were this eventuality come to pass,  the furthest north team left in the West will be the Blues. Also, no matter which team won of those final four, it would be a chance for one of those teams to win their first Stanley Cup. The Kings have only reached the finals once, and the Blues haven’t made it to the Stanley Cup finals since 1970. No matter who wins a Phoenix-Nashville series, it will be their deepest venture into the Playoffs (for the Coyotes in Phoenix, anyways).

No matter what happens, there will be new blood in the Stanley Cup Finals. Who wouldn’t want that? Besides the old guard, of course.
