But The Games Is On

Alexander Radulov's Game Isn't Hockey

4 years ago, offensive powerhouse Alexander Radulov abruptly left the Nashville Predators, securing a very rich KHL contract in his native Russia. Radulov left with a year still on his contract with the Predators, and certainly meant Nashville was left in the lurch.

Radulov’s abandonment came at a time when the relationship between the NHL and KHL was much less formal, very unprofessional, and largely disrespectful. The KHL and their owners didn’t respect the NHL and their contracts, nor did the NHL see the need to respect the KHL, and Radulov was able to chase the money.

His contract in Russia is now complete, and the relationship between the two leagues is much better. In order for Radulov to create an open bidding war, with as many teams as possible going after his services, he has to finish his contract that is still valid in America with Predators. So now, Radulov is going to play the post season with Nashville, making the squad all the more dangerous, thanks to their high flying forward.

Even if Radulov makes a great contribution, and seems to enjoy his time in the Music City, don’t make this for anything it’s not. Radulov is after a paycheck, and playing a few games in Nashville will help him secure just that.

And we thought the Kostitsyns were the only Russians on the Predators with a seedy background.
