Not necessarily an NHL move, but one that could have ramifications down the line. Highly regarded Keith Aulie is the second defensemen to be sent to the Tampa Bay Lightning today, and brings a little bit more promise than Mike Commodore. Aulie was acquired as part of the Dion Phaneuf trade initially. He is a big bodied defenseman known for big hits but not a lot of offense. Carter Ashton is also a strong young player, but he plays his physical game from the forward position. In his first full AHL season, he has already scored 19 goals. Naturally, he will be expected to score 30 a year in Toronto.
